GREATER TORONTO – On July 20, 2016, LiVante Developments took pride in celebrating a very special milestone, as their total donations to Adventure Place hit $100,000.
Hitting the mark had much to do with the success of their fourth annual tournament, which was held that day at the Thornhill Golf and Country Club. Thanks to the generous contributions of sponsors, donors, and participating teams, the tournament’s total funds raised came to $25,000 – beating the previous year’s tally by an impressive $5,000.
A registered charitable organization, Adventure Place serves the community as a child and family centre providing prevention, early intervention, and treatment services to children and their families, with a focus on those coping with autism-spectrum disorders.
Adventure Place’s facility also happens to be right next door to the Enclaves of McNicoll, a new LiVante Developments community that sold out earlier this year and has begun the earliest stages of construction.
“I have personally attended no less than 3 of their Annual General Meetings, and the testimonials from families, touched by the generosity of Adventure Place Staff, are inspiring and heartwarming.” explained LiVante Developments’ Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, Ben Wong.
“They truly represent a large part of the heart of this community, and even though the Enclaves of McNicoll has sold out, it was an easy decision to continue supporting them with this year’s tournament.”
This year’s tournament was the third to be held at Thornhill Golf & Country Club, and in addition to the main tournament, featured additional fundraising activities like the Putting Contest, Hole in One Contest, and a raffle prize giveaway. Participants also had the chance to enter to win a free vacation courtesy of Childhood Cancer Canada, the tournament’s official Contest Sponsor.
As with previous years, Adventure Place’s volunteers were an invaluable addition to the day, joining LiVante both on the course and behind the scenes to help things run smoothly.
In addition to remarks from LiVante’s Ben Wong, the evening’s program also featured appearances from Adventure Place’s Renzo Isabella, who provided some information about how donations are used, and Paul Bessin, who joined LiVante Developments’ Elio Valente, Stephen Wong, and W.M. Cheung on stage to accept the ceremonial cheque.
